Summer Travels
Tooling around Portsmouth harbor. My kind of boat....lots of bumpers!
Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!
It's a strange time we live in these days, but we are all in this together. We shall persevere like no other class, team, or school!
BooYah....
Our new look lunchroom ... no more tables!
Welcome to 6th Grade Jaguar Team Math!
In 6th grade math this year, we will be exploring the math series, Math in Focus (also known as Singapore Math). This outstanding math series is used from 6th grade to 8th grade at YMS. It is a challenging program that has excellent depth in its problem solving. It also follows closely the Common Core set of standards which are mandated by the State of Maine. The program was selected by the middle school math teachers and administrators. We look forward to the progress our students will make through the challenges they will experience.
Sixth grade math is separated into five domains (units). The first one we will go through will be Number Sense. The unit will deal with basic concepts of the number system such as factors, multiples, division, fractions, and decimals.

Flying in a KC-135 Simulator
Special Thanks to Lt. Col. Brian Waters for hosting Mr. Webster in experiencing the flight simulator at the Pease Air National Guard station. Lt. Col. Waters is the dad of former Jaguars' Eva and Brody Waters. He is a pilot and instructor for other pilots and trains in the simulator and in the real KC-135s that are based at Pease. They are the big refueling planes that circle over York at times. It was quite an experience. Thanks you Lt. Col. Waters for a memorable experience!
